Formula 1 Grand Prix (TM) and Moto Grand Prix (TM) Calendars

2007-2009 Seasons

Hi, I put together an iCal version of the GP calendar for myself in past seasons (2007-2008), and thought it might be of general public benefit.
Late in 2007 a user informed me that they could not cancel alarms, not having the password. Consequently I've dropped using alarms in these calendars.

I completed addition of the F1 and Moto GP calendars for 2009. I will get to the 125cc and 250cc motorcycle GP dates very soon and I'll update these comments when I've completed it.

2007-2008 Season dates have been retained for historic info, but alarms have been removed from all events.
All events are recorded in local race time and timezone combination, so that anyone who looks at it from their own pc should see it correctly adjusted to their own timezone times.

"Caveat Emptor" - I have taken great care in constructing these, but there may be errors and you are personally responsible to check the times against the official websites to be really sure when using these dates.

F1 GP 2009 LOADED IN
F1 GP
- via icalx (.ics): http (this is the one to link into Sunbird/Lightning) : webcal
- via a static local file (.ics): 2009 only (this is the one to import into Outlook) : 2007-2009

Moto GP 2009 LOADED IN
Moto GP

- via a static local file (.ics): 2009 only (this is the one to import into Outlook) : 2007-2009

250 and 125 GP 2009 NOT YET LOADED IN - COME BACK IN A FEW DAYS

I have done some basic testing and it seems ok so far. In 2007 I found some timezone anomalies in the official calendar and also in the Mozilla calendar resource and I will try to catalog any that I find this year and send info to them.

I may attempt to complete two additional calendars (one for F1, one for Moto) showing the times for all the practice and qualifying sessions, but that's a pretty big task and I'm a little busy otherwise, so that may not get done. Other suggestions welcome.

This year I am producing split (1 year static) calendars for each year for those using calendars like Outlook with "Import" only (vs "Subscribe", where you get a dynamically updated one.)

iCal readers are everywhere, have a look around here: iCalShare. Outlook isn't particularly good at it, but will load a static copy if that's all you have.
Here's one: Sunbird

Then:
- "new calendar"
- "on the network"
- "icalendar (ics)"
- Location: http://icalx.com/public/motogp/motogp.ics
- pick a name (Moto GP) and colour.
voila!
Repeat for the 125 and 250 calendars.

Please report any errors you find so that others can also benefit.
